The Qutb Minar is a minaret near New Delhi, India.
One of the earliest Muslim monuments in India, it was erected (c.1230)
by Iltutmish of the Dehli Sultante.
It is 240 ft high, covered with relief work, and was probably built to
celebrate a victory.
The diameter of the base is 47 feet while the top floor measures just
under 9 feet in diameter.
